PROJECT AAKAAR

PROJECT AAKAAR BY ASHWAMEDH FOUNDATION

Ashwamedh Foundation is an NGO working in Maharashtra founded on 1st August 2012 by Mr. Deepak Doddamani in Virar. Mr. Deepak started this NGO with some of his students and like-minded friends to do Social work in the Education sector. Ashwamedh Foundation started taking Career Guidance Seminar, Lectures on various education-related topics, drawing competitions etc. It is in 2013 we decided to tie-up with Schools to carry out some Projects for students there. We neither had funds nor donors who could donate us to start our own NGO Center. So we decided to work on Asset-Free model for the first few years. This is when we started approaching the schools in Santacruz area.

We got our first opportunity to take Certificate Course in Personality Development in Raje Sambhaji Vidyalaya, in Golibar. The principal of this School Mr. Vishwanath Mahadeshwar is currently Mahapor/Mayor of Mumbai city. Back then in 2013 his wife was Nagarsevika in that ward. She was invited by us to distribute the Certificates to all the students of 10th Std. who participated in that course. In the next meeting itself we decided that whatever we will do for the overall development of Children should come under the brand 'Project Aakaar'. We decided that Project Aakaar will focus only on Std. 9th and 10th as they were the right age-group students to understand topics like Stress Management, Time Management etc. After the success of the first Personality Development course, we decided to replicate the course in various other schools. This is how Project Ankur and Project Aakaar became our Flagship Programs.

Apart from Personality Development, we are now also focussing on teaching Yoga, Financial Literacy, Self Defence and different Skills to children. The scope of Project Aakaar is widening and so is the support of our well-wishers.

Ashwamedh Foundation is thankful to all the Donors who donated to PROJECT AAKAAR. Thank you.
